Hope's story is different. She has spent the last decade faithfully serving as a worship leader, songwriter, mother, and wife - only signing her first record deal just a few years ago. Written as a direct response to one of the hardest headlines the band has ever faced on a personal level, Dare to Hope is a statement for believers to stand in faith against circumstances that may seem hopeless. The stories of families impacted by a tragic school shooting and how they chose HOPE in what seemed like a hopeless situation is the inspiration behind Dare to Hope. Co-writer David Spencer, whose family was deeply impacted by this most recent headline, shared with the band how God’s mercy, faithfulness, and goodness showed up in the middle of pain and sorrow. This conversation spurred the lyrics, ‘I will see my deepest heartache become holy ground.’
