SAMANTHA BEE is back and LEMONADA MEDIA has her as the host of a new podcast, "CHOICE WORDS WITH SAMANTHA BEE." The former TBS "FULL FRONTAL" host and COMEDY CENTRAL "THE DAILY SHOW" correspondent will interview celebrities, politicians, and others about the choices they made in their lives on the weekly show.
The show is debuting TODAY (6/1) with two episodes featuring guests JUDD APATOW and ROSIE O'DONNELL; UZO ADUBA and LAURA DERN are among the scheduled guests on future episodes.
AMERICAN PUBLIC MEDIA's APM STUDIOS has announced a slate of three new podcasts set to debut this year. The shows include "CHARM WORDS." a daily affirmations podcast for children co-produced with ANTHONY FRASIER's ABF CREATIVE and debuting TODAY (6/1); "TINY HUGE DECISIONS," about the process of a friend deciding whether to carry a gay couple's baby, hosted by MOHSIN ZAIDI and DALIA ISKANDER and set to arrive in AUGUST; and "RIPPLE," a look at the aftereffects of mass events, hosted by DAN LEONE, produced by WESTERN SOUND, and coming in OCTOBER.

NPR WHITE HOUSE Correspondent and "NPR POLITICS PODCAST" co-host SCOTT DETROW has been named the new weekend host of "ALL THINGS CONSIDERED," starting JUNE 24th. DETROW's appointment fills the gap left with the move of MICHEL MARTIN to "MORNING EDITION" earlier this year.

Gen Z Study
SXM MEDIA and EDISON RESEARCH have released the results of their first Gen Z Podcast Listener Report, covering the media consumption and purchasing habits of American listeners aged 13-24.
Among the highlights, Gen Z podcast listening rose 57% in the past five years, with 47% of the demographic (about 24 million) now saying they have listened to a podcast in the past month; 66% say they use podcasts to stay up to date with the latest topics, and 61% to keep up to date with social issues; 82% say they listen while doing nothing else, and over 80% use podcasts to relax.
In addition, 43% say they have purchased a product they heard advertised on podcasts.

Celebrity feuds get dissected on a new weekly podcast from WONDERY.
"DISS AND TELL," hosted by SYDNEY BATTLE and MATT BELLASSAI, will look at celebrity battles from the conflicts among the "SEX AND THE CITY" cast to SELENA GOMEZ v. HAILEY BIEBER. The first episode will first be made available on JUNE 5th to WONDERY+ subscribers, with general release on JUNE 12th.

The latest podcast from ADAM MCKAY’s HYPEROBJECT INDUSTRIES and SONY MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT is an eight-episode series on the deaths of some of the biggest names in 1940s and 1950s HOLLYWOOD. "DEATH ON THE LOT," hosted by MCKAY, will debut on JUNE 1st with all episodes available to subscribers of THE BINGE that day and the eight episodes posting weekly for users of other platforms.
The series is a follow-up to MCKAY's "DEATH AT THE WING," which looked at the death of basketball prospects of the 1980s. AUDIBLE has inked a new podcast label co-founded by VIOLA DAVIS to a multi-project exclusive deal. ASHÉ AUDIO VENTURES, formed by DAVIS and JULIUS TENNON's JUVEE PRODUCTIONS and MAURÍCIO and KATIE MOTA's WISE ENTERTAINMENT, will begin releasing new podcasts through AUDIBLE in 2024. DAVIS' audiobook for "FINDING ME" won a GRAMMY this year.

HEARTPODCASTS and SCHOOL OF HUMANS have launched a 10-part true crime podcast on the cult leader dubbed the "CHARLES MANSON of SOUTH AFRICA." "QUEEN HAVOC AND HER MURDER CULT," hosted by filmmaker KURT KUBICEK, tells the story of CECELIA STEYN and her "ELECTUS PER DEUS" cult that murdered 11 people in four years.
The show is debuting TODAY (5/30) with two episodes; subsequent episodes will be posted weekly on TUESDAYS.
