Pet hair is everywhere! It’s shedding season; cats, dogs, and snakes are letting it all go and waiting for the next new layer, and vacuums are in demand.

Places like Costco specialize in seasonal items. During my last trip, two different manufacturers were demoing their super-duper “suck anything off of the floor” machine.

I spent the money on a Dyson a few years ago, and this thing is temperamental. The customer service rep and I had become fast friends since my Dyson was not caring much about the cat hair. It offered a myriad of challenges, from charging to staying charged.

The more I Googled for a solution, the better I felt, as I now have a community of people with the same vacuum challenge. The latest secret handshake that speaks to my machine requires me to trick it by plugging in the power cord, and holding down the power button two different ways for thirty seconds while rubbing my head and patting my belly.
